Group Manager

  • To request a CIRCE or SC group: please email rc-help@usf.edu with the following:
    • Cluster you would like group created on
    • Name of group
    • A text-based (.txt) list of USF NetIDs (not U-Numbers) of members to be added to group
    • If the group will be needing a /shares directory

Accessing Group Data

There are several ways available for accessing your group data share. When you create a group, qualified research groups get up to 1TB of replicated, backed-up storage.

Access via SFTP

  1. Point your SFTP client to circe.rc.usf.edu or sc.rc.usf.edu
  2. Navigate to the path /shares/<group_name> where <group_name> is the name of your group. Any files or directories created or copied to that location will be accessible by the group.

Access via the Command Line on CIRCE

While logged into CIRCE, simply change to the directory /shares/<group_name> where <group_name> is the name of your group. Any files or directories created or copied to that location will be accessible by the group.

Access via Windows Mapped Network Drive

For Windows 7 and previous,

  1. Go to Start and right-click on Computer
  2. Select “Map Network Drive”
  3. Select a drive letter you will remember
  4. Enter \\cifs.rc.usf.edu\shares\<group_name> where <group_name> is the name of your group
  5. You should now be able to access your group share via the drive letter you selected
